The last day of school in Brockway is June 5th; $ 1 Million Sports Field Loan | Connect VHF | Local news radio
Brockway, PA – The Brockway Area School Board held a virtual meeting Tuesday approving continuation of classes for students through June 5.
The board approved the plan, which offers students in the district online and parcel work. June 5th is now Brockway’s official last day of school. The graduation is on June 4th.
The district accepted Lauren Judge as a school psychologist starting next school year. It also approved the purchase of new soccer jerseys, a new convection oven and radios for bus drivers.
The last two items were financed from grants. However, the district also approved a $ 1 million loan for work on sports fields.
Superintendent Jeff Vizza said the district is adapting well to the COVID-19 shutdown.
The next board meeting is on May 12th at 7pm. If the house rules are continued, this session will also be held virtually by Google Hangouts.
Brockway, PA Also, tonight (Wednesday) in Brockway, from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Brockway Area School District will have stadium lights on for the 2020 class and Brockway School District students.
According to sports director Peter Grecco, they light up the stadium as a symbol of hope and the certainty that the students are in their hearts and minds.
They call it the Be The Light Challenge.
If you see the stadium lights, please note that there is no game taking place. It’s a symbolic gesture for Brockway’s students.
If you’d like to show your support and live in Brockway, you can light the porch of your house to celebrate the Be The Light Challenge.
Hometown Proud ❤️❤️❤️Lights were on on the Brockway Area School District athletic field to honor our 2020 Seniors and all of our students. #bethelightBrockway High School
